La Città Ideale

Così l’autore descrive questo mobile presentato per la collezione Intarsia: “L’artista è uomo della “polis”, lotta, lavora, ama, nella città e per la città. Ogni atto della progettualità artistica, della programmazione del nuovo, cerca una sempre nuova significazione del mondo, ogni passo dentro alle materie ed al farsi opera implica decisioni e scelte che sono indubbiamente artistiche, in quanto contengono coerenze significative, implicano sistemi di scelte e di decisioni della persona, del gruppo, del movimento conflittuale di tutta la prassi sociale. Per questo ogni scelta della persona non cessa mai, sul piano artistico, di essere una scelta etica per il gruppo o contro il gruppo, per l’uomo o contro l’uomo”.

“The ideal city” is the title of this project for the Intarsia collection. This is how the artist describes it: “The artist is the man of the ‘polis’, he fights, works and loves, in his town and for his town. Each phase of artistic planning and designing always aims to identify new meanings of the world. Each contact with materials and shapes leads to decisions and choices that are definitely artistic, as they are meaningfully consistent and linked to decisions and choices taken by individuals, groups or deriving from social debate. This is the reason why each individual choice always represents, from an artistic point of view, an ethical choice for the group or against the group, for man or against man”.

Fernando De Filippi

Leccese di nascita, maestro d’Arte, si trasferisce a Parigi in gioventù e successivamente a Milano. Qui si diploma all’Accademia di Brera, di cui anni dopo e per lungo tempo sarà Direttore. Pittore, ma anche fotografo, scenografo, colto studioso della storia dell’Arte.

He was born in Lecce. In his youth he moved to Paris and then to Milan. Here he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, of which he was appointed director later on. He is a well-known Italian painter, photographer and stage designer.
